  • Rev. Dr. Mark Jordan, Lead Pastor

Mark and his wife, Tiffany, have been married 17 years. They have two children: Ethan, who enters 9th grade this fall, and Mia, who is in preschool. Mark and his family moved to the Cartersville area in the summer of 2016 to serve as pastor for Church at The Well. Prior to living in Cartersville, Mark served as the lead pastor at Cokes Chapel UMC near Newnan, The Lighthouse UMC in Peachtree City, Coal Mountain and The Springs UMC in Cumming, and as the associate pastor at Saint Andrew UMC in Marietta. Mark received a doctorate in Clinical Pastoral Counseling and is licensed through the National Christian Counselors Association. He received his Master of Divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Georgia State University.

Favorite Experience: "I made my first trip to Disney World as an adult when Ethan was about 4 years old. That experience began a love our entire family has with 'The Most Magical Place on Earth.' We love taking our R&R at Disney, soaking up the environment, and reconnecting as a family. We can't wait to get down there with Mia for the first time, because we know that will be a blast! A close second would be the time Tiffany and I spent in China when we adopted Mia. If Ethan was able to be there, it would probably be tops."

When not at church or with the family I like to: escape in the world of sci-fi and superheroes. The first movies I ever saw in the theater were the first Christopher Reeve "Superman" and "Star Wars." As a young kid, those movies captured my imagination and inspired me in ways that are still quite meaningful. I also love to exercise and take long walks while listening to music. I find I'm really able to connect with God and God's creativity within me when I'm out in nature, earbuds in, and music blaring.

Favorite Quote: "I want to know God's thoughts; the rest are just details." — Albert Einstein

Honorable mention: "Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." — Walt Disney

Persons I would like to meet: The Apostle Paul and Walt Disney

Music/podcasts I like to listen to: I enjoy worship music from Hillsong United, David Crowder, Chris Tomlin, Third Day, and Steven Curtis Chapman. I also like classic rock, particularly The Beatles. In reality, though, if I'm not listening to worship tunes, I'm probably listening to movie soundtracks by composers like Hans Zimmer and John Williams.

My life verse is: "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,' declares the Lord..." (Jeremiah 29:11-14a)

Honorable mention: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

In addition to leading worship at Church at The Well, Alan owns and runs his home remodeling and repair business, Pro 1 Renovation, owns and maintains several rental properties, and also enjoys playing music at public and private events.

Favorite Experience: I have had many wonderful experiences, but my best experience was the birth of my first son. I remember every detail about that life-changing day.

When not at church or with family I like to: Work on my cars, house and land, hike, fish, study history, read and exercise.

Favorite Quote: "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both." Ben Franklin

Persons I would like to meet: I have met many celebrities over the years in the music and entertainment business, but really they did not impress me much. People I would like to meet:

    • Col. Glenn Dowling Frazier. He is one of the last men still alive who survived the Bataan Death March at the onset of the Pacific Campaign in the Philippines during WW2 and spent four years as a prisoner of war in Japan.
    • Any surviving WW2 combat veteran.
    • A survivor from the Auschwitz Concentration Camp.
    • Some others I would like to meet are Ben Carson, Pastor John Hagee, Marcus Luttrell, Benjamin Netanyahu, Rush Limbaugh, Neal Boortz. Kind of a broad list for sure.

Music/podcasts I like to listen to: I listen to a lot of sermons like David Jeremiah, John Hagee, John MacArthur, John Piper and Paul Washer. When I listen to music I prefer classic country, blues and soul.

My life verse is: All of Proverbs 20, but specifically Proverbs 20:7

A wise man walks in his integrity, and his children are blessed after him.

Hannah is a graduate of Reinhardt College with a Bachelors in Religion with an education specialization. She has worked in Children's Ministry at Briarcliff UMC in Atlanta, GA. She also taught school for 6 years. Hannah has been married to her college sweetheart, Andrew, for the past 8 years and they have a 4 year old daughter named Kayleigh.

Favorite Experience: Hannah had the blessing of being a foster parent with the United Methodist Children's Home for two years. She loved and welcomed fourteen different children in her home.

When not at church or with family, I like to: curl up on the couch with a good book and my boxer mix, Ali.

Favorite Quote: "A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child." Forest E. Witcraft

Music/podcasts I like to listen to: Hillsong, TobyMac

My life verse is: Psalm 130:5

  • Jacob BursoN, LAY LEADER

B.S. Professional Aeronautics, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

Jacob and his wife Dee Dee have been married for 18 years. They have 4 kids: Brady, Brooke, Brielle, and Bo.

Favorite Experience: Joining the military. The brotherhood bonds we created through adversity that crossed racial and geographical lines was awesome. It’s been over a decade since my military days were over, but I still keep in touch with several guys I served with. We’re family. That similar bond was created here at The Well when we started the church. We’ve been through so much struggle and success together and God allowing us to be a part of what He’s doing in this place has been amazing.

When not at church or with family, I like to: With a family of 4 kids, their school and activities, work, a home to maintain, and church-life, finding time to do nothing is super rare. I really like those moments where I’m doing absolutely nothing. Being horizontal on a couch watching the back of my eyelids is boring and spectacular all at the same time. I like to read, but if I have time to do that it usually ends with me falling asleep…. Quickly.

Favorite Quote:  “Our greatest fear should not be of failure but of succeeding at things in life that don't really matter.” – F. Chan

Persons I would like to meet:

Andy Griffith and Redd Foxx. When I was growing up, every week night, we’d watch old reruns of “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Sanford and Son”. Those shows ran way before my time, but the reruns… The quotes from those shows run through my head constantly. I’d love to share a porch with Andy and Redd and talk about today’s news.

Music/podcasts I like to listen to: All kinds. I grew up in dirt road country, but my cassettes went from country gold to rock to rap. My tastes haven’t changed much. I like music, all music, so long as it has something to say. I listen to a ton of sermon podcasts too from Andy Postell to Matt Chandler. All I know is that there are a ton of great pastors out there and the podcasts are easy to find.

My life verse is: “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” – Acts 4:13

  • Matt Cosby, Production Director

Matt was born and raised in Cartersville, so he says Cartersville always has, and always will be, his home.  Matt graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2013. Since then he has focused on doing freelance animation along with other creative projects.

Favorite Experience: It's hard to say. Living in Atlanta while going to school was an experience, in that I got to meet tons of new people.

When not at church or with family: I like to draw. Lots of drawing.

Persons I would like to meet: If I had the chance, I'd love to be able to have sat down with Dr. Seuss or even, as ridiculous as it sounds, Mr. Rogers, just to hear stories by them.

Music I like to listen to: Copeland, Further Seems Forever, Anberlin...the list constantly changes.

My life verse is: Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(This verse means so much to me that I even have it tattooed on me as a constant reminder that no matter what I seem to mess up with, that I am loved by God.)
